While your local utility will still be responsible for the transmission and distribution of your energy you may shop for more competitively-priced and/or environmentally-friendly energy products.

How Energy Choice works

Retail energy providers can offer competitive energy products to businesses by procuring energy from a variety of generation companies. They are responsible for providing energy to the customers who choose their specific products. The energy is then transmitted to the customer via their local utility (transmission and distribution company) who is responsible for the transmission system (poles, wires etc.). The local utility is also responsible for service restoration during an outage.

Your choice of a retail energy provider will not affect the level of service you receive from your local utility which is regulated by the Public Utility/ Service Commission. The Public Utility/Service Commission regulates service, rates and ensures all customers are delivered the energy they purchase regardless of the retail energy provider they select.

The Energy Choice Process

Your First Step is to contact us directly where a highly experienced energy expert can begin the process with you. In addition, complete the appropriate Authorization Form which will give us authorization to retrieve your historical usage from your local distribution company.

Next we will review your historical usage and talk to you about your energy needs, budgetary concerns and environmental goals.

Then we will make recommendations for alternative energy solutions in line with your budget and goals.

We will work together to tailor an energy program specifically for your business. Upon approval we will work on your behalf with your current energy supplier and your local distribution company to smoothly transition your business over to Exelon Energy.

Finally working in partnership with you we continuously evaluate your energy usage and make recommendations to help you maximize your energy purchase.
